A senior thesis idea for communications major Peter Vadala has turned into a campus-wide "Culture of Life" project that will soon evolve into "College Musical," a movie intended to spread the message of God's grace to secular audiences.
The project started out simply as a script that Vadala was writing for his thesis. When Vadala chose to actually create the movie, the project grew to include nearly 30 musicians, vocalists, actors and technical crew.
At first Vadala's script focused on abortion, but as he revised, he decided to focus on an anti-pornography message. Vadala said he can understand the issue, since he has met men who struggle with pornography. ( That Guy Isn't Me )

Calling my fellow Amazonian warriors: Anyone have any recommendations for riding boots? I usually wear a 10 - 10.5 and I have 18" calves, hence my struggle to find a pair that work. :(

So my Dad brings Devon's bike into the city today for me to ride home, and I get maybe, four, five blocks away from my house and smack into someone's mirror. The mirror pops out, and the force of the collision knocks my handlebars out of alignment. I waited to see if anyone was gonna come out and scream at me, and after no one did, I took off.
I feel pretty shitty about it, but not enough to leave a not or anything. Anyway, my finger's good and busted AND my handlebars are askew. In other news, my bank card came in the mail today. So that means I have to try and not spend it all in one place. I am tempted to find a pair of boots that fit, though...

1) Megaman is one of my favoritest series ever except for Megaman Starforce, which is the stinking skidmark on Megaman's track record.
2) It features the Megaman Powered Up designs, which I adore, but they're evil versions of all the characters to boot. It's cool to see how the artist tweaked 'em to make them different from their good counterparts.
3) Bombman is the best :')
4) I won't settle for anything less than an awesome group shot/collage for a desktop because if I'm going to have it up for a while I want it to be interesting.

Okay, fuckers. Due to some INTERESTING NEWS I HAVE BEEN TOLD, I am going to A-kon next year.
Even if I have to rob a bank to do it.
The reason is, INUGAMI CIRCUS-DAN is going to be there, their FIRST show in the US, with a Q&A and an autograph session. I basically have to be there or commit honorable suicide! So I'm going!

You were very loved, you were strong, you were such an amazing person. I'm trying not to hate life right now for taking you away from us, from your family, your loved ones ... Everybody is doing NaNoWriMo or that ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) mango thing (lol), but I just don't have the time. I never have the time for this thing! Maybe next year? I say that every year.
Anyway, I am still going to try to do something constructive every day. I have been really productive the last few weeks; maybe I've finally gotten over my bout of incredible apathy about like, everything. Maybe I just needed to stop focussing so much on ART ART ART and WRITING WRITING WRITING. As soon as I started doing A/V stuff and then this perfumery business, I started to draw again. I'm not exactly sure why, but I'm not going to question it!

Me: Duh. *Downloads and plugs in iPod and inserts card*
Computer: Hey look. You have stuff.
iTunes: Hey look. Your iPod has stuff.
Me: Yes. Now put my stuff and put it on the iPod.
Yessi: You should be able to drag and drop.
iTunes: *laughs*
Yessi: Make a new playlist and then drag and drop.
iTunes: You're funny.
Yessi: Import...?
iTunes: Import what? A .txt file? Sure!
Me: ...
Yessi: The sync button?
iTunes: OH HEY LOOK WHAT ELSE I FOUND OF YOURS! You want that, too, right??
Me: Wait... no...? Just the crap on my card. Not the stuff on the laptop.
iTunes: GOT IT. *takes off everything from the iPod and replaces it with EVERYTHING found, including shit we don't want*
Me: Yessi, you can just delete the stuff you don't want, right?
Yessi: Not with the iPod.
Me: ...........
iPOD IS MADE OF FAIL. DO NOT WANT.
My little MP3 player is amazing. Except it holds a whopping 256 MB. That's an ALBUM. >:(

I just shaved my head last week, found the suit, and already had the goatee (from an old stage makeup class) and old glasses that looked the part, so I figured it was meant to be.
I did a much better Dr. Girlfriend costume 2 years ago, but I also had significantly more time to get it together!

If I learned anything from this semester of school, it's that I am glad I am not majoring in English. I got my mid-term grades last week and it went like this:
Accounting: A
Math: A
Philosophy: C-
English: C
Now the difference between those last two (aside from one has a minus behind it and one doesn't) is that with Philosophy, I know why I got that fucking grade and it's because I slacked off on studying logic on the test, opting to study more of the Plato dialogues instead. Whereas with English, I have gotten jack shit in terms of feedback or comments. Four assignments and none of them ever came back with a grade. In fact, only ONE of them came back period, the first essay assignment and all I got was "good idea but too abstract". No letter grade, no points, nothing. I even had a meeting two weeks ago with the teacher and all I got from it was questions about what she wanted to look for in my revisions. Then she disappeared for all of last week with a message about doing an assignment online and putting it in her folder when there IS NO GOD DAMN FOLDER TO BE FOUND!
She better be in this week because I want some damn answers considering that I was one of six people that actually brought their rough drafts for the second paper in a class about...25? 30? Hell, only 14 people showed up on that day. And if I find out that if this kid who doesn't do anything but mass-email everyone in the class about what are they supposed to write about is getting the same grade as I am, I'm gonna be kicking down doors and making holes in walls. With my face.
Outside of that, not much is going on in my life except that I bought a netbook to use at school since I get more work done there than at home, even without the desktop freezing randomly (it has been doing that since 2005 when I got it.) The sad thing is that it has more RAM and a better video card than any computer I ever owned. It could even barely run Team Fortress 2 (which I bought yesterday for $2.50) though when you enter an actual match, it crashes but that is further than I ever got on a desktop.
The one thing I can't stand is the touchpad in place of an actual mouse but I plan on getting a wireless one along with a carrying bag soon. The one thing I'm thinking about is actually giving it a name. I never did that with any gizmo I owned (unless calling it "stupid piece of shit" counts) but I already came out with one suggestion:
Gabranth. It just popped in my head because I thought of all of the hatred I had towards the desktop that keeps locking up on me (I started turning it on and off with my middle finger after awhile) and towards FedEx who was in charge of delivering it as it took them two full days after the expected delivery date for it to arrive. The first day because they came at my dad's office (we used that as the shipping address) at 7 PM, two hours after the business closed. The day after that because they couldn't find the place, despite being there just the day before!
Though I am taking suggestions, but I naturally have the right to veto anything that makes my eyes turn red and pupil-less in rage. Or if it just doesn't sound right.
Oh and last week at work, I saw the book stands across from the pharmacy were selling the first two Twilight books. I did not care for that (and I was bored), so I made like Stan Lee in his appearance in one episode of the Simpsons and covered them up with copies of Stephen King's Just After Sunset. This weekend, I found out that most of the Twilight books were visable again so either people bought all of the Just After Sunset copies or someone just reorganized them (doubtful since some Mary Higgins Clark novel I used after I ran out of King books was still in place in front of two copies of New Moon.) Either way, I didn't have time to check.
I should really get some sleep since I have Accounting at 8 in the morning.

I went as our beloved Hank Venture this year for hallows eve...because as it turns out, I've actually HAD all the items one needs to make a Hank costume in my wardrobe for quite some time. Didn't even realize it until last week. XD
I was actually pleasantly surprised that a lot of people knew who I was tonight! There are 120 students TOTAL on my ENTIRE campus so I thought the chances were slim to none! HOORAY for being wrong! :D

Okay, so I need fic recs, folks. Specifically, Spock/Uhura smut. Or, if at all possible, Spock/Kirk. That'd be hot, too. Cuz Zachary Quinto? HOT. And we have the same birthday. *preens* So yeah, any recommendations would be muchly appreciated.
In other news, I wish I could party on Halloween. I haven't the time to make a costume, be it Storm a la 1970's Uncanny X-Men, or Uhura (the real one, not that Anorexia Saldana bullshit), so I may go with my Navy pin-up option. That's either gonna require a lot of work, or a lot of money on such a short notice. I really don't wanna go the whole store-bought, uninspired, hoochie look, but I don't think I'll have much of a choice, since Halloween is tomorrow. :/

Last night I learned it was the end of October. I have no idea where this month went, but I was under the impression it was only the 14th or so. I'm somewhat disappointed, because I had wanted to do something fun for Halloween given that I've had to miss it the past several years. I thought I had plenty of time left, but... Yeah, I think now is a little late to make plans XD;
So unless I get invited at the 11th hour to some awesome local party I wasn't aware of, I'll just stay in and waste the night watching horror movies. While I'm at it, let's see if there's a new record for lowest amount of trick or treat groups- last time I had four. Damn overprotective parents, you're ruining another holiday. And damn kids, too, for growing up and getting too old to celebrate.
Also, if you guys know of any horror movies to recommend, I'd love to hear them. I understand if nobody can think of any good ones, considering that for years now filmmakers have been confusing "startling loud noises and things flashing on the screen out of nowhere" with "atmospheric and terrifying". There's nothing quite like sitting in a dark theatre and realizing, barely past the point of a possible refund, that you just paid ten dollars to watch a ninety minute screamer video.

Man, I don't even know where to begin. I found an after hours speakeasy last weekend, and proceeded to behave like I was back in college, shaking my ass and what have you. I did finally end my dry spell though, and hooked up with the guy who ran the place. I blame Alan for introducing us in the first place. ;) ( Cut for the freaky stuff... )
Anyhoo, I just got a check for $500 from an insurance settlement from Grammy's house, so I'm feeling mad secure about things. On top of the beautiful card (and $200) Ed gave me just because, I'm feeling kind of financially sound. It's odd - never felt like this before. Now that November's cool, I can get December too, and actually, maybe be able to give Christmayulkwanznukkah gifts this year. But you best believe I'ma go shopping, cuz mama needs a new pair of shoes, jeans and undies, EARLY. Especially if I plan to visit Derrek again. ;)
I'm annoyed the Phils lost tonight, but I'm not the only one - Chooch disapproves, too:
